gmail has problems over and over - but don't give up on them - it's only the web interface

We all know about the GMAIL access issues. They come and go. Quite regullarly lately. But do not give up. It's not the email that's down - it's the web inteface that sometimes has problems.

So how can you ensure access to your email?

So far during every failure, the IMAP and POP3 interfaces continued to run. So why not setup an email client? That way you will continue having uninterrupted access even if you cannot log in via your web browser. To do so, do following:

• Go to "Settings"
• Select "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
• Make a choice - if you have a modern browser that supports security and IMAP I suggest you turn on "Enable IMAP"
• Alternately for old browsers configure "POP" access
• Follow appropriate "Configuration Instructions" to set up your email reader
• You are done, congratulations!
