While our engines are battling it out over words such as ogresteak (we are currently testing the indexing speed of several major search engines), it is time to look at the list of most commonly used phrases to describe hosting related business. According to WHIR magazine, the keyword phrase "web hosting" has lost somewhat on adwords from google going down from $50 per click to $43.61 in the lastest round (while at the same time going up from 8.49 to 10.98 on yahoo search). The phrase "dedicated hosting" stayed unchanged at $50 per click for top position on google, on yahoo, however, it went up from $11.01 to 14.02 for the top place.
Some of the other maxed keywords included "managed hosting" and "managed server", both of which were commanding over $19 on yahoo as well, being some of the most expensive keywords on yahoo for the hosting industry. Generally yahoo was much cheaper for top position than google with the exception of "shared hosting" at 24.62 (up from 24.34 the month before) on google and 29.32 (down from 52.69 month before) on yahoo.
