After talking to Microsoft on Monday, they updated their website and since tuesday a hotfix is now available for the ISAPI filter log override that can be requested directly from microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956120. Details of fix follow:
When you try to use an ISAPI filter to set IIS log parameters in Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0, you cannot change the cs-uri-stem field or the cs-username field in an IIS log. Additionally, incorrect strings appear in the cs-uri-stem field and in the cs-username field.
This issue occurs if the HttpFilterProc function of the ISAPI filter processes the SF_NOTIFY_LOG notification and changes the HTTP_FILTER_LOG structure. Because of an issue in IIS 7.0, these changed fields are not correctly reflected in the IIS log.
Note. If you use Windows 2008 server, just request the "vista service pack 1" for appropriate platform. The codebase is same for both windows 2008 and vista and the patch will fix the issue as verified by me on tuesday.
